OVERCOMING THE HINDERANCES OF PROGRESS.

BIBLE READING: Numbers 13: 26 - 33

Gratitude should be what we do everytime and every moment because the faithfulness of God in our lives is Surplus (Psalm 75: 1).
The mind of God for all His Children is to make Progress (Proverbs 4: 18).
Each time the Israelites committed sin against God, God handed them to the enemy as a consequence. But,whenever they realised what they have done and turn back to God, He showed Mercy unto them again.
SIN, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, INFERIORITY COMPLEX etc are hinderances that do militate against our Progress.
Numbers 13: 1- 2

1. "And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,"
2. "Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them."

God sent them (twelve) to go and check the land of Canaan and everything on it but some of those men (ten of them) undermined themselves, they looked down on themselves, they described themselves as Grasshoppers.
Grasshopper mentality in Numbers 13: 33 is an inferiority complex mentality.

Num 13: 33
"And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."
These people saw themselves as INSIGNIFICANT, they allowed their Past to dominate their Present, they looked down on themselves.
There is nothing you are going through that someone else has not gone through.
Grasshopper mentality does not want you to Progress and develop.
It does not want your improvement. They don't want to be challenged.
Always remember that you are created in God's image and He committed everything into your hands.

Genesis 1: 26

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
You are so important and peculiar to God that He sent His Only Son to die for you.

Grasshopper mentality is a DESTRUCTIVE Mentality/Spirit. Grasshoppers are prey to other Reptiles.

HOW TO OVERCOME

1. See yourself as God made you Gen 1: 26
You are to dominate, You are to Rule,
You are to be in charge etc
Numbers 13: 33

Whatever you are going through, do not see yourself as the situation is making you but as God said you are.
In every man's Canaan, there are Giants.
Exodus 13: 17
Do not pay attention to the situation around you.
2. See good in your life Numbers 13: 26 - 27
3. Have Positive mind, positive eye and positive language. BE POSITIVE
The day you know how God will do His work you are taking His place and it can destroy you.
You can not run away from Giants, they are in every land but you have what it takes to Conquer them.
4. Love and Serve God, when challenges come your way don't relent your services to God. If you serve God only when it is Convinient, you are still a grasshopper.
